It’s hard to find a safer car than the 2016 Kia Optima. Last week, we told you about the new Kia Sportage earning a Top Safety Pick + rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Today, we’re writing to tell you that the 2016 Optima has achieved the same distinction.
In case you missed last week’s blog, the Top Safety Pick award is a big deal all be itself. By getting the extra plus at the end, it must be especially safe. To obtain the plus status, a vehicle must get the highest possible score in five important categories: small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength and head restraints – as well as an “advanced” or “superior” rating for front crash prevention.
In addition to their style, warranty and affordability, Kia has earned its reputation for producing some of the industry’s safest vehicles. Stop by Kia of North Grand Rapids today and find out more!
Which vehicle took home the US News & World Report‘s “Best Compact Car for Families” prize in their annual Best Car For Families Awards? It was none other than the 2016 Kia Soul!
The winners are determined after an in-depth evaluation process that includes judging more than 250 vehicles based on factors such as the availability of family friendly features, professional automotive reviews, seating and cargo volume, and safety and reliability ratings. The winner of each category was then declared as the vehicle with the highest composite score.
Why did the Soul win? “The 2016 Kia Soul is a great choice for families who want a vehicle with a small footprint, but plenty of interior space,” said Jamie Page Deaton, managing editor, U.S. News & World Report. “In addition to its roomy and comfortable passenger cabin, the Soul has the safety features to give parents peace of mind and the entertainment features to keep the peace in the backseat.”
US News & World Report is sold on the Kia Soul. You will be, too, once you stop by Kia of North Grand Rapids for a test drive. We look forward to seeing you!
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the all-new 2017 Kia Sportage the “2016 Top Safety Pick +” Award. What’s the Top Safety Pick + Award, you ask? Good question!
IIHS testing parameters were changed for 2016, requiring each vehicle to earn “good” ratings in five crashworthiness tests – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength and head restraints – as well as an “advanced” or “superior” rating for front crash prevention in order to qualify for a TSP+.
The award-winning Sportage further demonstrates Kia’s ongoing commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Why not stop by Kia of North Grand Rapids today for a test drive?
