Just in case you’re wondering, there isn’t a typo in the headline – and read on for the full explanation. The redesigned 2015 Kia Sedona has received many accolades in its short existence, and it’s time to add yet another one! Late last week, the Sedona captured the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) award in the Minivan segment.
The J.D. Power APEAL study measures new-vehicle owners’ overall satisfaction with their vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership. The results are divided into 10 categories and weighted accordingly: exterior, interior, storage, audio, seats, heating and ventilation, driving dynamics, powertrain, visibility, and fuel economy.

Sometime in the not-too-distant future, the Kia Soul EV will make its debut at Kia of North Grand Rapids. (Today, it is only available in a limited number of states.) When it arrives, you’ll discover how much fun it is to drive. Just ask the professional vehicle tester from Autoblog, who had the following comments.
It doesn’t take much to get the tires to chirp when starting from a dead stop … and the initial boost of power that the car experiences off of the line is enough to make scooting around town an enjoyable affair.
The Soul EV has a range of 93 miles, depending on how you’re driving. That’s a solid number – in fact, the Tesla Model S is the only electric that beats it.
All told, this is one of the better EVs we’ve driven over the past couple years. That speaks to both Kia’s aptitude for making a green vehicle, and just how much the genre has improved in a relatively short period of time in regards to their range, cost and overall driver experience. Heck, compared to the Nissan Leaf, this thing feels downright posh.
We can’t wait to see the Soul EV navigating its way around the Grand Rapids roads!

Quite often, our service department personnel are asked a question like this: “I just finished reading the recommended maintenance schedule in my owner’s manual. Do I really need to do all that?” The best answer to this question is this: If you really want to spend less, lower your long-term repair bills, limit inconvenient emergencies, extend your vehicle’s life and keep a higher resale value, regular preventive maintenance is the secret.
For example, one of the best ways to keep your vehicle running smoothly is with regular oil changes. Even though some manufacturers suggest longer intervals, we still recommend you change your oil and filter every 3,000 miles. It’s still the cheapest, yet most crucial maintenance procedure to help ensure a longer, happier life for your vehicle. When people don’t check their oil regularly (or if too long a time period passes in between oil changes), the oil becomes thicker and contaminated with sludge and particles. Over time, this could cause the oil level to drop to a point where it could cause damage to your engine.
With regular maintenance, we’re able to catch issues in their early stages that would otherwise go unnoticed until much later.
We rely on our vehicles to get us to work, our kids to school, and for any number of other important parts of our lives. It’s important that you take good care of your car, and in return it’ll take good care of you.
How would you like to have one of these parked in your driveway? It could happen. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Kia Niro concept vehicle. It’s actually been out for a little while, but we thought you might be interested to see it. The butterfly doors are the thing that first gets your attention, but there’s a lot more to like about this futuristic vehicle!
First, it’s a hybrid! The gasoline engine is a 1.6-liter T-GDi Gamma engine with output of 160 horses. On the other hand, the electric motor can generate up to 45 horses. It is planned that the gasoline engine transmits power to the front wheels by means of a dual clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission. An electric hybrid system powered by regenerative braking delivers horses to the rear wheels.
Will the Niro hybrid make it to the showroom floor at Kia of North Grand Rapids? No one knows for sure, but you can bet it would certainly turn some heads! We’ll keep you posted.
It’s always a great idea to get routine maintenance services performed on your vehicle as recommended by its owner’s manual, such as an oil change. This is perhaps the most important thing you can do to extend the life of your vehicle. It’s often the first instinct of a car owner to take their car to a “quick lube” establishment when the time comes for an oil change. But there are many reasons this is not the way to go, and some are not immediately obvious to car owners.
First, “quick lube” workers are typically hourly employees. They know how to perform an oil change (and maybe another service or two), but they have no clue about your car as a whole. It’s this lack of knowledge that can cause other issues, such as filling your engine with too much (or too little) oil … or the wrong kind of oil. There’s also the chance they could install the filter improperly. Oh, and finally, the brand of oil they use could be inferior to most of today’s major brands.
Having an oil change at Kia of North Grand Rapids is the best way to ensure your vehicle is being cared for by a skilled automotive technician who puts the customer first. And because we know your time is valuable, we offer our by-appointment Service Express Oil & Filter change, which gets you in and out quickly.
Your car is too important for you to cut corners, and Kia of North Grand Rapids has everything in place for you so you don’t have to!
